Description

Durat's extensive color palette has proved to be a versatile tool for designers, and it has expanded with the addition of Durat solids. Minimizing the filler, designers now can use these primary colors and neutrals with an even appearance, as the "speckles" have been removed. At the request of specifiers, this line was developed to address a segment of the market that did not want the texture that traditional Durat presents. It is just as versatile as the speckled Durat sheets and is comparable in regard to recyclability.

Overall Thickness

0.5 in standard. With support plate, the assembly is roughly 1.2in thick. Custom thicknesses available by request

Edge / End

Standard edges are radiused 0.07in. Custom radiused or curved edges can be made to most specifications. Common edges include straight, slightly eased, beveled, bullnose, radius edge with apron, mitered, recessed, etc

Maintenance

Darker colored solid surfaces are not recommended for high traffic installations as they may show scratches more easily. Please reach out to us for a test piece if you are considering this kind of application. It is recommended that the surface be cleaned with mild detergent or a soap and water solution and rinsed with water. Melamine foam (Miraclean, Magic eraser) is an excellent cleaning product for Durat as well. For difficult stains, you can use dishwasher detergent. If the Durat® countertop is scratched or suffers similar damage, it can be re-sanded in the same manner as sanding a new product. Refer to Maintenance Instructions for further guidance

Applications

Countertops, integrated sinks, bathtubs, shower trays, custom furniture, casework, windowsills and retail displays. Ideal for use in kitchens, bathrooms, schools, hospitals, restaurants, cafes, laboratories, boats and other public spaces

Installation

Countertops can be mounted to any kitchen or bath cabinet. The top should be sealed to a support plate for extra rigidity. Seams can be sanded down, producing the effect of a single piece. Refer to Fabrication Manual for further guidance
