Wenge is a heavy wood that has an attractive appearance due to its strong grain and subtle color variation. The heartwood is a darker brown with black veins and white lines. Wenge has a high resistance to abrasion and a high bending strength. Wenge wood is available FSC certified and known for its colors of pale yellow to dark brown with black veins.Light wire brushing is a technique that gently removes the softer wood fibers from the surface, leaving the harder grain exposed. This process enhances the wood's natural texture, creating a subtle, tactile finish with a refined, rustic character. Light wire brushing maintains the wood surface’s durability while adding a unique depth, accentuating the wood grain and providing a slightly weathered look that feels both elegant and organic.Grothouse’s Original Oil™ is a food grade, mineral oil used for lasting protection on wood surfaces. This finish is primarily used on butcherblock, wood countertops, cutting boards, salad bowls, soapstone and wood utensils. The finish is hypoallergenic and free of Tung oils.
