Founded in Ravenna, Italy, in 1987 by Maurizio Leo Placuzzi, Sicis has taken the art of mosaic from scarcity to the international design stage. The DNA is mosaic, informing the evolution of the company from handmade mosaic art to furniture, fabrics, lighting, hardware and Vetrite—innovative glass products.

SICIS was founded in 1987 and soon became the worldwide leader in art mosaic. Thanks to its unique qualities, the mosaic is transformed from a simple covering into a communication tool, an expression of art and design, and creating modern history. The company continues to widen its path, channeling this dynamic through furniture, fabric, lighting, hardware and now, a new covering material: Vetrite. Vetrite is an innovative glass-sheeting product available in multiple formats. Its versatile aesthetic makes it the perfect design solution to a wide variety of applications and styles.
Art and Innovation.
All materials are produced in-house at Sicis in Ravenna, Italy. Producing in-house allows for control of the raw material, budgets and delivery. Sicis mosaics are made by hand, by Sicis Master Mosaicists, providing a vast range of standard materials, which can be combined in an infinite range of solutions and budgets.
