Nero Red Horizontal

Artist Bruno Billio presents a series of high-contrast, repeating murals based on his explorations with paper tape. In Billio's studio practice, the colored strips are applied on a range of projects, from small canvasses to large, room-sized installations. For Rollout, the tape is a tool that creates randomized undulations of positive and negative space within a regime of organic striping. Just behind the various lines, a subtle background layer of additional texture adds even greater depth and enhances the illusion of peering through a fence into a surreal space beyond.
