Stonblend GSI is smart, smooth and stain resistant, and highly recommended for pharmaceutical, research and health care applications. Also widely popular in commercial environments, it is available in a recycled glass formulation for an environmentally friendly application.
Materials
Flooring/Epoxy Flooring
Sample Size
2.75 in x 2.75 in
Size
Covers approximately 200 sqft per unit
Custom Capabilities
Customize colors, finishes, textures, and patterns. Formulations can be made to meet specific criteria and incorporate unique elements such as aggregates, pigments, decorative chips, or flakes. To ensure that the entire system is watertight, the use of Stonhard’s Stonproof ME7 membrane system is required with strict adherence to application instructions. To provide a seal at the joint between the floor and the wall, cove bases in heights from 2in - 6in are available
A multi-component system consisting of a penetrating epoxy primer, an epoxy trowled mortar, curing agents, colored quartz silica aggregate, sealers, and a polyurethane coating. Refer to Product Data sheet for specifics.
Finish
Offered in a matte finish
Construction
Components are packaged separately and mixed together on-site
For regular maintenance, use Stonkleen D2G with a mop and bucket or an automatic floor scrubbing machine. Deep cleaning for healthcare environments may require diluted Stonkleen AS9 to remove sanitizing and disinfecting films and residues that are left behind from health code protocols that, over time, will leave heavy build-up and dull the floor. Refer to manufacturer's documentation for additional information
Seamless epoxy mortar system flooring, aesthetically comparable to terrazzo. Recommended for pharmaceutical, research, and healthcare applications, parking garages, and mechanical equipment rooms. Widely popular in industrial and commercial environments
Installation
A specially trained application crew from Stonhard will complete installation. First, patching, leveling, and priming of the substrate is needed. Components will then be mixed together and uniformly spread over the primed and sealed substrate using a screed applicator. Steel finishing trowels are used to compact and smooth the surface of the material to the required thickness. A chemical reaction between components causes the mixture to harden. Mix and apply the topcoat sealant material over the hardened floor. Installation can only be completed when the slab and air temperatures are between 65° - 85° F. Relative humidity must be below 80%. Refer to manufacturer's documentation for additional information.
Manufacturer Notes
Color matching is available with additional lead time, minimum order requirements, and a slight premium. The appearance and surface texture of all floor systems will change over time due to normal wear, abrasion, traffic, and cleaning. High-gloss coatings are subject to a reduction in shine, while matte finish coatings can increase in gloss level under normal operating conditions. The material's shelf life is 3 years if left in the original, unopened container, with one exception for the Stonseal CF7 component, which will only last for a single year
ASTM D-4060, CS-17 tested. 0.06 gm max weight loss
Impact Resistance
ASTM D-2794 tested. >160 in/lbs.
Emissions
VOC emissions include 75 g/l from Stonblend Primer, 17 g/l from Stonblend GSI Base, 52 g/l from Stonblend Groutcoat, 34 g/l from Stonkote CE4, and 47 g/l from Stonseal CF7 (Method C)
Performance
Has a cure rate of 12 hours for foot traffic and 24 hours for normal operations
Hardness
ASTM D-2240, Shore D tested. Result between 85 to 90
